The Director of Information’s NHL Totals Ratings 2024-25

Add the two teams’ ratings for the expected total goals in a matchup. A team’s rating is not the expected number of goals it will score; rather, its contribution to a matchup which will get closest to the combined total goals of the two teams.



The ratings average only 1.84 goals retroactive difference from each season-to-date game’s total goals, while maintaining zero bias for being too high or too low.
